File Description Description:

  1. Under certain network configurations, HP OfficeJet software may generate large numbers of OpenPrinter calls, which generates unresolved open pipes on the network print server. These open pipes, due to their large number, may eventually crash the print server.
  2. The V-series OfficeJet software may also create excessive traffic on a network.

  1. The print server crashes periodically and network analysis discovers a large number of open pipes on print server. At least one HP OfficeJet printer is connected locally to a PC and the PC maintains at least one connection to a network printer.
  2. The network shows loss of bandwidth and subsequent analysis of network traffic indicates a significant number of frames originate with HP software. At least one HP OfficeJet printer is connected locally to a PC and the PC maintains at least one connection to a network printer.What this software patch accomplishes:

    1. Significantly reduces the number of open pipes generated by the V-series software.
    2. Significantly reduces the amount of network traffic generated by the V-series software.
