OS:not set		 Important: If the PSC 900 Series software is NOT already installed or has been Uninstalled, install the software from the included CD-ROM by following the Setup Poster for your PSC 900 Series. Once installation has completed, restart your system and carefully follow the Patch Installation instructions detailed below.

If the PSC 900 Series software is already installed, you should use the following instructions to install the patch:

  1. Disable any active anti-virus software including, canceling any active dialog boxes associated with Norton Antivirus. The PSC 900 Series will not install properly with Norton Antivirus active. If installation is attempted (reconnecting the device in step 1 below) with Norton Antivirus running, then the user will need to uninstall the PSC 900 Series driver and reinstall.
  2. Turn Off and Disconnect the HP PSC 900 Series.
  3. Open the Windows Task Manager. Press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Delete] to activate the Task Manager.
  4. If active, select "hpocon07" from the list of running tasks and choose End Task. Another dialog box will appear to inform you that the task is Not Responding. Choose End Task.
  5. Open the Windows Task Manager again. Press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Delete] to activate the Task Manager.
  6. Select "hpobrt07" from the list of running tasks and choose End Task. Another dialog box will appear to inform you that the task is Not Responding. Choose End Task.
  7. Open the Windows Task Manager one last time. Press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Delete] to activate the Task Manager.
  8. Verify there are no other tasks running which begin with "hpoÂ…" in the task manager. If there are, end those tasks as well.
  9. Run the patch by double-clicking the file: HpPSC900_StartupDelayFix.exe. This should be done by selecting the patch from the START -> RUN -> Browse method
  10. Complete the dialogs for the patch and choose Finish at the completion of the installation.
