If you are running Digital Sending Software 3.4.5 or earlier, HP recommends upgrading to DSS 4.3. Secure Access or Communications licenses will automatically be upgraded to the DSS 4 platform.

The Digital Sending Software is available at www.hp.com on the driver download page for the HP LaserJet 9000mfp and HP LaserJet 9000L mfp.

DISK DRIVE COMPATIBILITY

In some cases, the firmware upgrade on the 9000Lmfp will fail with a ten gigabyte drive and an early firmware version. Print a Configuration page and look under Firmware Datecode section for the firmware version. Also look under the 'Installed Personalities and Options' section. Within this section you will see an entry labeled 'DISK Storage:'.

A 5 GB drive will be reported as approximately 4641 MB. A 10 GB drive will be reported as approximately 9500 MB. If the 9000Lmfp has version 3.202.0 or 3.220.0 AND a 10 GB hard drive, you will need to call HP support at (208)323-2551 to obtain a DIMM upgrade. If you pull out the hard drive temporarily and have Firmware version 3.202.1 OR if you have a 5 GB drive, you do not need the DIMM upgrade.
