This update is recommended for HP LJ P2055 printers that have a prior version of firmware. This utility updates the printer firmware to the latest version. The firmware version can be found on the Self Test/Configuration Page which can be printed by accessing the Setup Reports Menu on the front menu panel of the printer. |

The HP LJ P2055 Firmware Update Utility for Macintosh OS X, OS X 10.5, 10.6, 10.7 and later can use either an USB or Network connection (if equipped) to the printer.
- The HP LJ P2055 driver software must be installed prior to using this utility.
- The HP LJ P2055 printer must be on and in a READY state.
- You must be able to print to your P2055 from the Mac running the update utility.
- Once the update process has started, do not use your Mac for any other activity until the process is complete.
- Inform others connected to the product, both network and USB, to refrain from using the printer during the update period.
- Do Not power cycle the product or the Mac until the firmware update process is complete.
