File Description This software creates a .CAB file that contains a binary image of the System ROM in the Professional Workstation SP700 model with a 686W6 Family ROM. This SoftPaq is used to flash the System ROM on target PCs on a network, and it requires System Software Manager (SSM) or Remote Management Setup.The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined by running the Setup Utility by pressing F10 on the target computer during system power on of the computer, and viewing File/System Information. This information can be saved into a text file by selecting File/Save to Diskette.

HOW TO USE:1. Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette.2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is an executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. You will be prompted to insert the formatted diskette in a drive to create the diskette.4. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.5. Keeping the newly created diskette in the A: drive, cycle system power to boot from the ROMPaq diskette.6. Follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade the System ROM.WARNING: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR ATTEMPT TO REBOOT THE COMPUTER DURING THE UPGRADE PROCESS!!!!
Corrects a condition that was causing the system to only show 32 MB of RAM during POST. This occured if the user entered CTRL-C or CTRL-A to access the setup program for Adaptec or Symbios SCSI controllers and then warm booted their systems.
