File Description This SoftPaq creates .CAB files that contain a binary image for the System BIOS (ROM) for Armada E500/V300 Series notebooks. The BIOS/ROM image file must be used with Remote Management Software in order to actually flash (upgrade) the ROM image on one of the affected Armada notebooks. The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined by running F10 Setup.

HOW TO USE:
  1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.
  2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. Entering "Y" to confirm the unpacking of files creates 3 new directory folders in the download directory. All files are unpacked into these newly created directory folders.
  3. After the directory has been created, you may delete the self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.
  4. To create the optional installation diskette(s), run MAKEDISK.BAT and follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. To install, run SETUP.EXE from either the DISK1 subdirectory (created in step 2 above) or from diskette #1 (if you created diskettes in step 4 above). Follow the directions on the screen.
  6. After the installation is completed, you may delete the directory folders created in step 2 if you wish.
