NOTE: To perform this installation, you must be the ROOT user. After the initial process, reboot the system to complete the installation.

1. Download the SoftPaq .rpm file to a directory on your hard drive.

2. To check for existing 'fglrx_...' packages, at the prompt type:
'rpm -qa | grep fglrx'

3. Remove any previous package. For example, at the prompt type:
'rpm -e fglrx'

4. Remove any previous accelerated graphics drivers, e.g. NVIDIA. For example, at the prompt type:
'rpm -qa | grep nvidia'
'rpm -e nvidia'

5. To install the new package (assuming the pattern matches the correct RPM in the current directory), at the prompt type:
'rpm -ivh fglrx*8.982.8.3-1*.rpm'

This step places files and then builds and configures the ATI accelerated graphics module. It also backs up any current xorg.conf f
